This Sunday morning we will walk past the works of Gerrit Rietveld.

In honor of the Style Year in 2017, the Centraal Museum Utrecht developed a special Rietveld Walking Route. From the Centraal Museum, this walk takes you past highlights of Utrecht from the work of Gerrit Rietveld (Utrecht 1888 – Utrecht 1964).

These are, for example, the house where Rietveld was born, his workshop, the block of houses on the Erasmuslaan and of course the Rietveld Schröder House. In addition to these monuments, the Centraal Museum itself is the start point for the route.
(The museum has the largest collection of Rietveld objects in the world, which you may want to visit yourself after the walk. You will need to get a ticket and reserve a timeslot for this in advance.)

* Please note that this route follows a similar path as part of the ‘Kromme Rijn photowalk’ a while ago, however in opposite direction, so at least you get a different point of view 😉

The walk ends at het Ledig Erf, so after the walk (optional) we can relax at a cafe, have some drinks and share our photos.

The subject for this walk is ‘De Stijl’. If we all submit some photographs around the same theme, we can compare our different visions and get more inspiration.

The walk could be cancelled if the weather turns out to be too rainy.
The walk is about 6 km, so expected end time is around 12:00. The end time is an estimate only; the length of the actual walk could be different from posted.
Come prepared, wear comfortable shoes, bring water, use sunscreen… and don’t forget your camera 🙂
