Hey everyone.

Thank you so much for joining this meetup. It’s great to see that there is such interest in photography in the Utrecht area.

By the looks of it, we are finally going to get some summer weather next Saturday (touching wood) and I was thinking that this could be a good chance to have our first event.

For the last couple of years, I have made it a habit to visit Castlefest. A medieval fantasy festival held in August. I think this is the best place to meet each other and spend a day (or some hours) together shooting interesting people in their amazing costumes.

If you are too shy to shoot street photography then this is the perfect place to break the ice and learn to shoot people. The visitors of the festival will be wearing some of the most fantastic fantasy clothing I have ever seen and are all willing to be photographed. Some of the visitors are professional models, so this will give you the chance to get in contact with them.

There are also multiple concerts playing all day and you can stand right in front of the stage. So this can also be a good way to dip your toes into concert photography.

If you are interested, you can buy your ticket online at http://castlefest.nl/info/tickets/ (we are not affiliated with the festival). the entrance fee is € 23.00 but it is an all day event with lots to see/do.
